Refund Policy

1. Overview
PaySSD is committed to providing transparent and fair refund policies for all transactions processed through our payment gateway. This policy outlines the conditions, procedures, and timelines for refunds.
2. Merchant-Initiated Refunds
Merchants using PaySSD can initiate refunds for their customers under the following conditions:
- Full Refunds: Merchants can issue full refunds within 90 days of the original transaction.
- Partial Refunds: Merchants can issue partial refunds for a portion of the original transaction amount.
- Processing Time: Refunds are typically processed within 5-10 business days, depending on the payment method used.
- Refund Fees: PaySSD does not charge additional fees for processing refunds. However, the original transaction fees are non-refundable.
3. Customer Refund Requests
Customers seeking refunds should:
- Contact the merchant directly to request a refund
- Provide proof of purchase (transaction ID, receipt, etc.)
- Allow the merchant reasonable time to process the request
If the merchant is unresponsive or disputes the refund, customers may contact PaySSD support for assistance in mediating the dispute.
4. Refund Methods
Refunds are processed using the same payment method as the original transaction:
- Card Payments: Refunded to the original card within 5-10 business days
- M-Pesa: Refunded to the original M-Pesa number within 24-48 hours
- Mobile Money: Refunded to the original mobile money account within 24-48 hours
- Bank Transfer: Refunded to the original bank account within 5-7 business days
5. Non-Refundable Transactions
The following transactions are generally non-refundable:
- Transactions older than 90 days
- Transactions flagged for fraud or suspicious activity
- Digital goods or services that have been delivered/consumed
- Subscription fees after the billing period has started (unless otherwise stated by the merchant)
6. Chargebacks
If a customer initiates a chargeback through their bank or card issuer:
- PaySSD will notify the merchant immediately
- Merchants have 7 days to respond with evidence
- A chargeback fee of $15 USD may apply
- Excessive chargebacks may result in account review or suspension
7. PaySSD Service Fees
PaySSD subscription fees (Pro and Enterprise plans) are subject to the following refund policy:
- Monthly Plans: No refunds for partial months. Cancel anytime before the next billing cycle.
- Annual Plans: Pro-rated refunds available within the first 30 days.
- Free Trial: No charges during the trial period. Cancel before trial ends to avoid charges.
